Holidays at Home

Tabulae Ltd has been instrumental in the ‘staycation’ movement from early in 2009 when we planned and set up our Holidays@Home website in advance of the Spring season.  As the campaign snowballed and diversified, far larger players also picked up our ball - and sprinted with it - until a series of local and national initiatives culminated in the EH ‘Visit England’ campaign that ran through much of the year.

Not only was Holidays@Home the first, ours remained the only UK wide site offering the opportunity for direct input by organizers to enter information on their own events, for themselves, by region and type, and in the way they chose to.  A truly comprehensive range of events accumulated from seasonally and historically themed events at heritage venues to community beer festivals…

Many venues returned anecdotal reports of an increase in visitor numbers of up to 20%  in 2009 (One major cross industry player has just announced a 16% rise in profits last year – particularly acknowledging the benefits of the staycation campaign and its effect)

The UK leisure industry does look set to enjoy a continuing boost in interest and attendance as another Spring approaches.  Tabulae Ltd has accordingly taken the decision to move on to the next challenge rather than continue to fund and promote Holidays@Home again in 2010.
